UltraMon in 2026

UltraMon was a popular multi-monitor utility in the Windows XP–7 era but has not been actively maintained since around 2020. It is not officially supported on Windows 11 and lacks modern features like HDR profile management, VRR toggling and per-app DPI overrides. For new setups on Windows 10 or 11, it's difficult to recommend over actively maintained alternatives.

Display EX for modern Windows

Display EX is actively developed and tested on Windows 11 24H2. It covers everything UltraMon did for display switching, and adds HDR, VRR, DPI overrides and per-app triggers that weren't relevant when UltraMon was built. And it's free.
